Adecco’s specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a Tier 1 Contractor providing services for North east Lincolnshire Council to assist them in recruiting for a permanent Electrical Designs Engineer to work off their Grimsby offices.
The role requires only 1,2 days site presence
Purpose
The Electrical Design Engineer will work as part of the Professional Services Team and deliver inspiring projects while developing detailed electrical designs and specifications for buildings, Highways and infrastructure.
Duties
To Be a proactive participant in the delivery of Professional Services
Project delivery, including overseeing input from others including external suppliers
Delivering projects within budget, on time to the required standard.
Create and implement electrical designs specific to the field
Be responsible for design quality and profitable delivery of own projects.
Timely reporting of project/office financial information to contribute to meeting budget at team level which supports in timely invoicing forward planning of resources to achieve targets.
Interpret client utility requirements and understanding scheme drawings and considering the impact on existing utility assets.
Evaluate utility assets as shown on utility record drawings and preparing feasibility assessments against client proposals
Liaise with utility companies with regards to obtaining utility easement and wayleave information. Coordination of utility works on behalf of clients, ensuring that works are completed in line with client programs.
Develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with commissioners, their teams/partners and across service areas as appropriate
Remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to uphold standards of best practice
Candidate requirements
Hold a degree and/or an equivalent professional qualification in an engineering, project management or similar – Bachelor’s or Masters in Engineering
Health Safety and Environmental Awareness.
Experience of working within a Local Authority or Partnership organisation /Public sector bodies
Experience in Microsoft Office usage
Experience in working in the utility industry with knowledge in technical aspects of utility works, including loading calculations, network reinforcement and design, along with the ability to understand the impact of utility constraints on a scheme.
Strong oral and written communication skills
To have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of renewable technologies in terms of utility connections and considerations for developer connections.(desirable)
An appreciation of relevant legislation, including the New Roads and Street Works Act as well as other guidance that are specific to the utility sector such as HAUC, HSG47 etc (desirable)
Full driving licence.
