EQUANS are recruiting for a Highway Design Engineer to be based in Grimsby DN37. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.50 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £35,000 – £42,000 per annum DOE and benefits package.

General Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Highway Engineer to join Equans Professional Services function, a multi-disciplinary design consultancy including Civil, Structures, Infrastructure and Build.

Equans is North East Lincolnshire Council’s long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a number of services on their behalf, including the Highways Design Service. We are proud of our established, successful and award winning partnership – our team having secured a number of high profile regeneration and infrastructure projects, as well as being responsible for delivery of the Local Transport Plan for North East Lincolnshire. This role supports the team in their delivery of a first-class service to its customers and fully contributes to delivering sustainable development and growth in North East Lincolnshire.

What will you deliver?

Deliver highway designs through AutoCAD & associated design packages including Key Line & Key Sign.
Attend Consultation events
Prepare tender packages including drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and Pre-Construction Health & Safety Plans.
Prepare cost estimates for client budgeting purposes.
Ensure all designs are in accordance with current design standards.
Undertake site supervision of highway and infrastructure projects.
Develop and maintain excellent client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring repeat business, added value, and client satisfaction.
Be involved in project management and technical delivery of projects from inception through to completion of project.
To ensure all designs are CDM 2015 compliant.
Manage and co-ordinate personal workload to achieve project deliverables within the agreed time, quality and financial objectives.
Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be expected at this job level.

Who are we looking for?

Essential: –

Qualified to HND/C level or equivalent.
A demonstrable track record in the Highways and Transportation industry.
Ability to work on own initiative with limited management.
A knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
Knowledge and understanding of DMRB design standards
Understanding of Health and Safety legislation, experience of CDM Regulations 2015.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Key Signs & Key Lines.
Candidates should demonstrate a high level of initiative in managing workload, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills and the attitude, conduct and demeanour to reflect EQUANS values.
The flexibility to travel to various project sites and consultation events

Desirable: –

Candidates should have the ability to communicate confidently and clearly both verbally and in writing, and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties
Experience of delivery works for local authorities.
Relevant post HND/C qualification experience.
Knowledge and experience of producing geometric highway designs using AutoCAD Civil3D
