Job Description• Negotiate contracts for goods and services, including waste etc.• Buying the best quality equipment, goods and services for the company at the most competitive prices.• Responsible for Direct and Indirect purchases. • Identify purchasing synergies and cost reduction opportunities within the Group, Division and other UK sites.• Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.• Providing reports, statistics and presentations about market analysis, supplier’s performance, material price movements, risks and mitigations.• Developing the organisations’ purchasing strategy.• Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.• Ensuring corporate policies are integrated into departmental procedures and develop close partnership with corporate central purchasing liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.• Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels.• Identify areas of risk and potential new sources.• Maintain an Approved Supplier listing and their ISO registrations.• Maintain an up to date database of purchasing specifications and develop new ones as necessary• Lead and Manage the Buying Team.• Monitor and maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the site.• Carry out the job requirements in full compliance with the Code of Conduct.• Support and demonstrate the ‘4 Values’ and associated ‘behaviours’ in carrying out your duties and responsibilities.• Learn and follow the safety requirements in relation to your job.• Employees are required to take reasonable care of themselves and other persons which may be affected by their acts or omissions, furthermore employees must cooperate with management and not interfere or misuse anything provided in the interest of health and safety.
