Teaching Assistant – Reed – West Marsh


An opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join a lovely school in Grimsby to work in an EYFS class on a full-time basis. You will work alongside an experienced teacher and will be expected to support the class teacher and children as necessary. There are approximately 30 children in the class of varying needs and abilities- you will be expected to regularly work with small groups and individuals in order to bridge gaps and challenge greater depth learners.
The role is for one academic term initially and will begin in January 2023. There are opportunities for the position to be extended either through Reed, or on a permanent basis through the school.
Supporting both individuals and small groups to bridge gaps and challenge greater depth learning
Working collaboratively alongside the class teacher to help monitor understanding and plan next steps
Helping to prepare the classroom environment and activities ready for the day and the lessons
Admin tasks such as photocopying, laminating and registering attendance
Assisting the teacher with producing, making and updating of displays
Taking part in school trips, events and activities
Attending any additional CPD as required
Following the school’s policy for behaviour and maintaining high standards
Reporting safeguarding disclosures or concerns as necessary to the designated safeguarding lead
Depending on experience, you may be expected to cover the class if the teacher is absent
Experience of working in a school or nursery setting in the last 5 years (essential)
Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification (desirable)
Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
