EQUANS are recruiting for a Yard Operative to be based in Grimsby DN31. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary £23,500 per annum and benefits package.

Key Accountabilities

Working in a fast-paced construction environment, you will have the ability to carry out multiple tasks and yard duties.
You will be able to drive a telescopic handler and forklift, subject to license, training and competency.
You will be health and safety conscious and be able to work with minimal supervision
You will be competent to load waste into HGV lorries and skips using a telescopic handler.
You will be competent to load and unload materials from delivery vehicles using a forklift with grab attachment.
You will undertake daily stock checks of stored materials, equipment and stored fuels.
You will undertake routine checks of small plant and equipment, such as masonry cutters, floor saws, breakers, pedestrian operated rollers and all ancillary equipment and tools appropriate to highway operations.
You will undertake housekeeping of the yard and secure compounds to ensure they are maintained in a safe condition.
You will assist the Highway Supervisor and Highway Maintenance Manager with general duties as required.
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants must hold a recognised telehandler and forklift licence.
Applicants should have experience working in a Depot / Yard environment.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills.
Applicants should preferably be able to demonstrate a level of competency in construction type activities, although training will be provided to suitable applicants.
Applicants must be prepared to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.
Applicants must have good organisational skills, a systematic approach to work and be able to maintain accurate records.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Applicants should be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
